Purpose

The goal is to ensure that LKN delivers agreed (prearranged) functionality, quality, capacity, cycle time and safety in the current project.

Ensure the shortest possible installation time, commissioning time and maximum utilization rate of robots, process equipment, operators and floor space in the factory for the production equipment that LKN delivers to the customer.

The process refers to the manufacturing process that we integrate in LKN´'s robot application. The most common are spot welding, arc welding, gluing, sealing, riveting, fastening of welding nuts, welding screws, press riveting, etc. The process is studied both in the form of each individual equipment, robot with integrated process equipment, entire robot cells and also flow simulation of the entire production line which through its flow must deliver the right clock time, product quality, degree of utilization and staffing.

The process department is also involved in the early stages during the quotation phase to develop solutions in accordance with the customer's requirements and wishes. In addition, it is verified that the proposed solution meets customer requirements.

Work procedure:

Using the latest digital technology in CAD and simulation software ensure the right process quality, geometry & access, cycle time calculations and safety calculations.

The process is simulated in its entirety with software such as:

  • Process SImulate
  • Robot Studio
  • Delmia
  • Visual Components

The work takes place in close collaboration with the design department mech, electricity & control suppliers, subcontractors of equipment and installation personnel. During the development process, several iterations take place between process, design, assembly and customer.

The delivery from the department includes 2D and 3D layouts, cycle time diagrams, access verification, installation documentation, safety analyzes, Off Line robot Program, "as built" documentation, cycle time analyzes etc.

Fault-Free production with intelligent sensor systems

Vision systems and sensor technologies have a major role to play in the monitoring of processes: for example, intelligent camera systems check the position of a work piece and ensure that position tolerances are compensated before further processing is carried out.

In this way, faults can already be avoided during the production process. We select the appropriate sensor solutions and integrate them into the application.

Simple controllers for complex systems

Particular expertise is required for the intelligent control of complex systems and the precise monitoring of critical process parameters. This requires the perfect coordination of the software of all system components - from the robot to the overall system.
